Disrespect to Odias

___________________________________________________________

The celebration of the Republic day of India is a celebration of the unity of our nation. India has diverse languages, diverse cultures, diverse religions and comprises of 29 states yet as one it constitutes the ‘Republic of India’. The ethos of India is based on equality, unity and respect for all. However at the celebrations of the 66th Republic Day at Rajpath of Delhi a new disposition was witnessed. While displaying the might of the nation the tableau of Odisha was not to be found. Odisha contributes significantly to the nation, infact Odisha gives more and takes less from the nation yet this neglect.

I am deeply saddened with the fact that my state is not found worthy of being displayed while showcasing the nation. There better be a good reason for this. Both the state Government of Odisha as well as the Government of India are answerable. If otherwise then I feel this should be considered as an ‘anti national deed’ cause this is completely contrary to the ‘ethos’ the Republic is constituted upon. This condemnable and elusive deed must not be tolerated as this is a neglect & disrespect to Odias.

This matter, to a few might seem very frivolous but I hope they realize it’s intensity, as today it is a neglect for Odias tomorrow it could be others and then it will take very little time for the fabric of the nation to tear into pieces.  Then what happens to the ‘Republic of India?

I sincerely hope that the rulers come out with a really good reason or else they must render unconditional apology.
